This page brings together how long each kind of information is kept in your workspace, and how to keep your own copies. Recording and message retention often intersect with legal and industry requirements, so check it against your obligations.

Call recordings
- Recordings are deleted automatically 90 days after the call, every night. The call's entry in the call log stays, without the recording.
- Owners and admins can download a recording from the call log at any time before then. See Find and play recordings.
- If your business must keep recordings for longer, or for less time, contact intSignal.
Your recording policy decides which calls are recorded in the first place, and its audit trail records every change and every recording started, stopped or paused.
Text conversations
In Messages, Archive, Restore and Delete tidy each person's own view on their browser. The messages themselves stay in your workspace.
When someone selects Delete permanently:
- The conversation is hidden from their view and set aside for review.
- 30 days later it's permanently erased.
Within those 30 days, intSignal can preserve a conversation that must be kept, for example one needed for a legal matter or one deleted by mistake. Contact intSignal as soon as possible.
Every archive, restore and delete is recorded for your workspace's records.
AI data
When AI is turned on, intSignal Connect keeps the results with your account data: call notes, transcripts of voicemail and recordings, AI reviews and scores, AI receptionist conversations and messages, the AI flow builder's chat, and your company knowledge.
The AI answers in Ask AI about your numbers use your call and texting totals, not recordings or message contents. See Analytics.

Match retention to your obligations
Some industries must keep call recordings or messages for a set period, and some privacy laws limit how long you may keep them. Download what you're required to keep, and contact intSignal if the standard periods don't fit your obligations.
