This guide gets you signed in and oriented, and walks a first extension through to placing calls. It takes only a few minutes. Still choosing a plan? The UCaaS plans and per-user pricing page lists what each tier includes.
Open your workspace
Go to your workspace from your welcome email. Sign in with email and password, or choose Sign in with Microsoft if your organization uses Microsoft accounts.
Turn on two-factor authentication
On the Account page, set up two-factor authentication (2FA) with an authenticator app — scan the QR code and confirm the 6-digit code. Save your one-time recovery codes somewhere safe. (Microsoft sign-ins already satisfy 2FA at Microsoft.) See Sign-in & security.
Pick your account
If you belong to more than one organization, choose the right one from the account selector in the top bar.
Find your way around
Owners and Admins land in the Configuration Console, grouped into:
| Area | What lives here |
|---|---|
| People & Phones | Extensions, devices, users, roles |
| Numbers & Routing | Phone numbers, business hours, time conditions |
| Call Flows | Auto-attendants, ring groups, queues, the call-flow map |
| Voicemail & Media | Voicemail, announcements, hold music |
| Meetings | Video rooms and settings |
| Messaging | Business texting and registration |
| Reports | Call log, recordings, usage |
| Settings & Compliance | Feature codes, retention, change management |
Use the Easy / Advanced toggle on any screen to show just the common settings or the full set.
Get an extension calling
Create an extension and device
Add an extension for a person, then add a device (desk phone, softphone, mobile, or the browser phone). Device sign-in credentials are shown once — copy them then.
Assign a phone number
Give the extension its own phone number.
Register the emergency address
Complete the guided emergency-calling (E911) wizard for the extension. Outbound calling stays blocked until the address is verified — this is required for safety.
Make a call
Sign the device in, or open the browser phone, and place a
test call. Dial *43 for an echo test, or *65 to hear your extension
number.
Tip
Building call routing (menus, ring groups, business hours)? Changes are staged until you click Apply Configuration, so half-built flows never affect live callers. See Config change management.
