Scheduling & the dispatch board

Schedule and dispatch work orders, get the best-matched technician with smart assignment, avoid double-booking, and see the calendar.

The dispatch board is where work orders get matched to technicians and time. ICP helps you pick the right person and keeps you from double-booking — the scheduling half of the field dispatch and technician scheduling platform.

Smart assignment

Ask ICP for the nearest qualified technician and it returns the single best match plus the full ranked list, with each candidate's eligibility, distance, and the reasons behind the ranking.

  • Eligibility — the technician must be active and hold all required skills; any missing skills are listed
  • Scoring — favors technicians who are closer and less loaded (each active job adds cost)

Note

Distance is used only when a technician has consented to location sharing and has valid coordinates; otherwise travel distance is treated as "unknown" and weighted accordingly. See the field app for how location sharing works.

Double-booking protection

Scheduling a technician into a window that overlaps an existing order is rejected, and ICP tells you which order conflicts. Back-to-back jobs that only touch at the endpoints are allowed. A scheduling window must be in the future and can't span more than 30 days.

The dispatch calendar

The Calendar shows scheduled orders across a date range with technician and site, in a day or week view, and can be filtered by technician — so you can see the day's routes and balance the load at a glance.
