This guide brings a single site online end to end. Repeat it per location, or have intSignal stage the edges before shipping — every site you add extends the same resilient multi-transport WAN fabric.
Prerequisites
- At least one internet transport at the site (two or more for failover).
- Rack space or a shelf, and power, for the SD-WAN edge.
- Access to the Network Portal. See Roles & permission groups.
Deploy
Register the site
In the Portal, go to SD-WAN → Sites → Add site, name it, and note the generated activation code.
Cable the edge
Connect each transport to the edge's WAN ports and your LAN to the LAN ports. Power it on. It reaches the fabric and pulls its configuration automatically.
Activate
Enter the activation code when prompted (or it auto-activates if pre-staged). The site appears as online in the Portal within a few minutes.
Apply a policy
Assign a traffic policy (or start from the default). Policies set which apps prefer which transports and how failover behaves.
Validate failover
With the site live, unplug the primary transport briefly. Active sessions should continue over the secondary link, and the Portal should log the failover.
Warning
Test failover during a maintenance window the first time. Confirm voice/video survive a transport loss before relying on the site in production.
Next steps
- Fine-tune paths and segmentation in the Configuration reference.
- Add remaining sites by repeating this guide.
