Compliance Workspace · Working the program

Tasks & reminders

Assign controls to owners, set due dates, and let the Compliance Workspace send email reminders for upcoming and overdue items so evidence collection actually gets done.

Compliance stalls when it's one person's side project. Task management spreads the work across the people who actually own each area and keeps it moving.

Assign an owner

For any control, set an owner — the person responsible for implementing it and attaching evidence. Owners see their assigned controls and can work them without touching the rest of the program.

Tip: Assign controls to the person who does the work, not the person running the program. The engineer who manages access reviews should own the access-review control — they have the evidence at their fingertips.

Set due dates

Give each assigned control a due date. Due dates turn a vague "we should get compliant" into a schedule you can work backward from your audit date.

Automatic reminders

The workspace sends email reminders for:

  • Upcoming items, before they're due, so owners have time to act.
  • Overdue items, so nothing quietly slips.

Reminders mean you don't have to chase people manually — the system does the nudging, and the readiness score shows whether it's working.

A simple cadence that works

  1. Kickoff: triage the whole program, assign owners, set due dates against your target audit date.
  2. Weekly: review the score and the overdue list in a short sync. Unblock owners.
  3. Ongoing: as reminders land, owners attach evidence and mark controls implemented.

This turns a months-long slog into steady, visible progress — and when you're ready, the audit pack is one click away.
